Privacy notice

Alistair Law, trading as PadSys. Last updated September 2026.

This explains what information PadSys collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written to be read, not to cover every eventuality, so if anything is unclear, ask: hello@padsys.uk.

If you visit this website

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It records the page viewed, the country, the browser and device type, and the site you came from. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and cannot identify you personally. Nothing else runs in the background.

If you email PadSys

Your name, email address and whatever you write are kept so that PadSys can reply and, if it goes further, do the work. Email is hosted by Zoho in the European Union. Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are deleted after twelve months. Client correspondence is kept for six years, which is how long tax and contract records need to be held.

If PadSys contacts you first

PadSys sometimes emails owners and managers of limited companies who might find its work useful. This is done on the basis of legitimate interest, under the UK rules that allow business-to-business marketing to companies. Every such email says who it is from and how to stop further contact. If you ask not to be contacted, your details go on a list that is checked before any future email is sent, and you will not hear from PadSys again.

If you are a client

When PadSys builds or maintains a system for you, it will usually handle information about your business and may handle personal data about your staff or customers on your behalf. For that data, you are the controller and PadSys is the processor. PadSys uses it only to do the work agreed, keeps it in the UK or EU unless agreed otherwise, does not share it with anyone except services needed to deliver the work, does not put it into consumer AI tools or allow it to be used to train any AI model, and deletes or returns it when the project ends or you ask. The details are in the terms of business that accompany every project.

Where information is held

Email and documents are held with Zoho (EU). The website is hosted by Netlify. Systems built for clients are hosted where the project scope says, normally in a UK or EU region of Google Cloud or an equivalent, and belong to the client.

Your rights

You can ask what information PadSys holds about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to it being used for marketing. Email hello@padsys.uk and it will be dealt with within a month. If you are unhappy with how PadSys has handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
